A structured video handoff helps a recruiting VA label clips accurately without guessing about dates, opponents, athlete identity, or game situations.
Start from the original file
Keep the source filename, event date, opponent, team, and recording owner together. A downloaded social clip may have lost timing or permission context needed for publication.
Identify the athlete consistently
Provide jersey number, uniform color, position or event, and any number change. Mark the athlete briefly in a review copy rather than forcing the VA to infer identity from movement.
Describe only visible context
Record period, score, clock, or play situation only when the footage or game record supports it. Avoid labels such as game winning or dominant that turn context into evaluation.
Separate editing notes from public captions
A note to trim dead time or add an arrow does not belong in the final description. Keep production instructions in a private field and athlete facts in the public field.
Confirm sharing permission
Check who owns the footage and where it may be posted. Remove material involving sensitive information or a restricted link before handing it to another platform.
Review the published link
Open the final video while signed out, test sound and mobile playback, and compare the caption to the approved metadata. Record the version so later edits do not replace the wrong file.
